Deadline: Employers must train employees on the new label elements and Safety Data Sheet (SDS) format including:

  • Training on new label elements
  • How to use a label in the workplace
  • How elements of a label work together
  • Training on the SDS format
  • How a label is realated to the SDS

June 1, 2015

Deadline: Chemical manufacturers, importers and distributors reclassify chemicals, send chemicals with SDSs and labels in the GHS format.

December 1, 2015

Deadline: Distributors send only chemicals with updated SDSs and labels.

June 1, 2016

Deadline: Employers are in full compliance with the HazCom/GHS standard.
