SPC Sorbent Products from Brady

Overspray Leaks & Drips Application

OSHA Regulations

29 CFR 1910.22(a)(2)(1997) Requires Clean and Dry floors in the workplace.

Around any type of manufacturing process or assembly, accidents can happen.  But "Spill Control" today is more likely ROUTINE MAINTENANCE of overspray, leaks, and drips than it is emergency spill response.

Major Considerations

  • What are the liquids used in a given area?
  • What type of coolants, lubricants, cleaners, etc. are in use? This will help determine the TYPE of sorbent to use (Universal, Oil Only, or Chemical).  See SPC Chemical Compatibility Chart
  • How much liquid is being released, and from where?  This will help determine what configuration of sorbent to use (Pad, Roll, SOC, etc.)

Things to Look For:

  • Puddles, splashes, stains
  • Other evidence of past spills
  • Leaks under and around: machines, heavy equipment, pipes, valves, and even vehicles.
