Brady Compliance update to EU RoHS Directive

Since our founding in 1914, the Brady Corporation has embodied the qualities of our founders, Will and Bill Brady: a "special American genius" for developing useful products of high quality with an extreme focus on meeting your needs. For over 90 years, Brady has been working to provide you, our Customers and Partners, high-performance identification products of the highest quality and surrounding them with the best service and support we can provide.WEEE/RoHS Compliance

Last year, growing concerns over the environmental contamination stemming from electronic products being discarded into landfills caused European Union governments to enact the Reduction of Hazardous Substances Directive (RoHS). The RoHS Directive aims to reduce ground water and other environmental contamination by restricting the content of certain heavy metals in products. It makes electronic products more economically feasible to recycle and takes effect for all affected products imported into the EU by July 2006. All parts used to assemble electronics products, including labels, will have to comply with the RoHS Directive by that date.

For the past two years, Brady Corporation has been investing significant money and resources to analyze the materials we use in our products and testing them using an independent, third-party lab for RoHS validation. We are near to completing all of our work on Brady's RoHS-affected products and have educated our staff on the RoHS legislation so they can speak to compliance questions and address many of the issues or concerns you may have. In addition, Brady has created on-line reference tools to provide you real-time information on our parts' RoHS compliance status. An online part search is available at the following web address: www.bradyid.com/weee-rohs.

While not all of Brady's products are affected by the RoHS Directive regulations or have to comply, we want to assure you of our commitment to meet the RoHS Directive regulations for any products that are covered by the scope of that Directive. Like our founders did in 1914, we will keep working hard to provide your business high performance products, accurate information, quick responses to your questions, and fulfilling those needs you have.
