What is China RoHS?

As of March 1st, all "electronic information products" that are sold in the People's Republic of China shall be marked with pollution control logos for "electronic information products" in accordance with the requirements set in the Chinese RoHS China labels

RoHS Directive.  There is an extensive list published which includes many products not covered by EU RoHS such as radar attached to aircraft or ships, medical equipment, measurement instruments, some production equipment, batteries and most types of components.

The China RoHS Directive has two levels of requirements:

  1. All EIPs must be marked to indicate whether any of the six substances are present.
  2. Products that will be specified in a catalog -  substance restrictions will be specified and these may be some or all of the six EU-RoHS substances and possibly others.

For more information on the Labeling Requirements download the Labeling Requirements document for China RoHS or visit the China RoHS website at www.chinarohs.com.
