Equipment Reliability and Maintenance
Visuals and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)
Lean manufacturers know that reliable production processes are critical to their operations. As a result, the focus of equipment maintenance is shifting from fixing breakdowns to maximizing uptime and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE). This approach is called total productive maintenance, or TPM.
How visuals can benefit your TPM and reliability programs: Simplified operator-based care training, faster detection of operating abnormalities (predictive maintenance), quicker troubleshooting and root cause analysis, reduced store inventory, fewer unplanned MRO purchases, and improved safety and employee morale.

Predictive Maintenance Use visuals to ensure that vibration, ultrasound and infrared measurements are taken at the exact same spot each time - no matter who takes the reading – to ensure comparable data over time. |
