How to Submit to the DoD IUID Registry

An overview of what data needs to be submitted, and how to submit data to the IUID Registry

The Department of Defense’s Item Unique Identification (DoD IUID) Registry is located at https://www.bpn.gov/iuid. UIIs and other pertinent information are stored in the IUID Registry, which is maintained by the Defense Logistics Information Service (DLIS).

What Data needs to be submitted to the IUID Registry?

According to DFARS 252.211-7003, the prime contractor must report the following information at the time of delivery:

  • Concatenated UII or an IUID Equivalent
  • Unique Item Identifier Type
  • Issuing Agency Code
  • Enterprise IdentifierOriginal Part Number Lot or Batch Number
  • Current Part NumberCurrent Part Number Effective Date
  • Serial Number
  • Unit Acquisition Cost
  • Unit of Measure
  • Description

This information should be submitted by prime contractors, in accordance with the data submission procedures found at: http://www.acq.osd.mil/dpap/pdi/uid/data_submission_information.html.

How is data submitted to the IUID Registry?

Data submission options include:

  • Wide Area Work Flow (WAWF)
  • XML or Flat File through Global Exchange Service (GEX)
  • Manually at http://www.bpn.gov/iuid
