Brady Advantage: Sustainability - Brady
The Brady Advantage

Sustainability

Brady SustainabilityWinning the Right Way. Sustainability is not a new concept at Brady. We do business in a way that meets our needs today, yet considers the impact on our stakeholders in the future - and that's been our approach long before "sustainability" became popular.

But we realize the importance of a more formal, structured approach to sustainability in order to continually improve our initiatives and communicate our progress to you. By integrating sustainable business practices into our daily business operations, we will continue to be a company that our employees will want to work for, and you will want do business with.

Brady's sustainability framework is focused on our company, our customers and our communities:

Our company. For the past several years, we've embraced a strategy of "lean and green" to achieve operational and environmental excellence. Our goal is to eliminate waste in all facets of our operations, which will in turn have a positive impact on our environmental footprint. We continually strive to reduce our solid waste, natural resources wastes (water, paper), and emissions.

Our customers. We want our products to have a positive role in your sustainability initiatives as well. That's why we monitor our materials to ensure compliance with recognized material standards, and have incorporated the "Design for Environment" principles into our new product development process.

We've also added a variety of new products to support your sustainability efforts, including: Re-Form sorbents made from 80% recycled newsprint and other cellulose; BradyGlo photoluminescent exit signs that are powered without electricity; and B-8088 labels - the world's only halogen-free, flame retardant label.

Our communities. Every year, we invest in community organizations and programs that focus on leadership development and education.

In fact, we've pledged over $1.5 million since 2006 in multi-year grants to recipients like the Boys and Girls Club, the Next Door Foundation's "Leaders of Tomorrow," and the Center for Teaching Entrepreneurship. We donated more than $1 million in products to schools and community groups throughout the country. And most recently, we've pledged over $500,000 to fund the college educations of low income second and third-grade students from Clarke Street School, an urban grade school located near our Milwaukee campuses.

By supporting the development of our communities and the people who live in them, we hope to build community partnerships - both now and in the future.
