PermaSleeve™ Heat-Shrinkable Wire Markers Notification

As a valued customer to Brady Corporation, we are pleased to announce an enhancement to the Brady Heat-Shrink Sleeve product lines. Brady will be consolidating all thermal transfer heat-shrink sleeve products under the PermaSleeve™ Wire Marker brand. With this consolidation, we will be moving to one, global sleeve liner. This offers many benefits, including less liner and ribbon waste, easy-to-select products, and a common, easy-to-open sleeve profile. After extended testing, we are confident you will be pleased with the product enhancement. Please see details on the sleeve liner enhancements below.

Brady PermaSleeve™ Heat-Shrinkable Wire Markers:

Brady PermaSleeve™ Wire Marker, PS B-342 and HT B-345:
Brady B-342 and B-345 will be moving from the current PVC Liner to a durable white Paper Cardstock Liner beginning in early summer June 2010. Dimensions of the liner and catalog numbers will be staying consistent, allowing you to continue to use current software templates. After the liner enhancement, you will be able to use the PermaSleeve B-342 and B-345 product as you do today. Please note, there may be mixed inventory for a period of time, due to what Brady distributors have on-hand. Please know that you will continue to see a high quality product, and you will be able to use the product as you do today.

Brady PermaSleeve™ Wire Marker, HX B-7642 and ZH B-7641:
Brady B-7642 and B-7641 will be moving from the current paper Heatex™ Wire Marker Liner to a durable white Paper Cardstock Liner beginning in early summer June 2010. Dimensions of the liner will be modified to match the Brady PermaSleeve B-342 liner, allowing for one consistent liner, across all Brady PermaSleeve product lines. In addition, part numbers will be modified to match the current PermaSleeve scheme. Packaging will be modified to match the brown PermaSleeve box with blue lettering. This enhancement reduces ribbon and liner waste, and allows an easy-to-open common sleeve profile. Due to modifications being made to the liner dimensions and the catalog numbers, those using the Heatex product lines today, will need to transition software templates to match those of the PermaSleeve part numbers. We will be providing a number of ways to do so. Please see below.

In order to assist in customer template transition, Brady will be launching the new PermaSleeve™ B-7642 and B-7641 parts on the Paper Cardstock Liner in June 2010, while allowing the Heatex B-7642 and B-7641 parts to be active for four months (through Sept. 2010). This will allow Brady a transition period to assist customers in template transition.

Brady Heatex™ Label Software:
Brady will be moving to LabelMark™ Label Software with this transition. A software utility will be provided to automatically update software templates to LabelMark. This software utility may be found at www.bradyid.com upon launch.

Brady LabelMark™ Label Software:
A software utility will be provided to automatically update software templates from the old Heatex B-7642 or Heatex B-7641 part number to the new Brady PermaSleeve B-7642 or PermaSleeve B-7641 part number in LabelMark. This software utility may be found at www.bradyid.com upon launch.

BradySoft™ Label Software/ CodeSoft® Label Software:
All Brady PermaSleeve product lines will be added to the BradySoft and CodeSoft Label Software programs upon launch of the new liner. Parts database updates will be found on www.bradyid.com upon launch.

Brady PermaSleeve™ Wire Marker B-7642 and B-7641 Part Number Modifications:
In order to move to one global branded PermaSleeve product line, Brady will be modifying the part numbers, roll quantities, liner dimensions, and packaging of its B-7642 and B-7641 product lines. Please note that roll quantities will become consistent throughout the PermaSleeve product line, and B-7642 and B-7641 pricing will be modified based on the updated roll quantities. Brady customer service will be able to assist in any questions on part numbers when ordering product.
