Brady offers GlobalMark® Printing System for GHS labeling compliance
Brady pairs GlobalMark printer, MarkWare™ Software for simplified multi-color GHS labeling
MILWAUKEE, Wis. (April 19, 2012) – Brady a leading manufacturer and marketer of label printing systems and materials, is offering a printing solution that can help companies comply with OSHA’s new Globally Harmonized System for Chemical Labeling (GHS). The printing system, which includes Brady’s existing GlobalMark®2 Industrial Printer and MarkWare™ Software, makes it easy to create multi-color GHS labels in an OSHA-compliant template.
“The new GHS standards will require facilities around the world to revise the way they make their chemical labels and what they look like,” said Matt Luger, senior product marketing manager for Brady printing systems. “But customers with our GlobalMark printers and MarkWare software already have the capability to make GHS-compliant labels.”
According to Luger, both the existing GlobalMark 2 MultiColor or Color & Cut Printer models are equipped to print two-color black and red GHS labels.
“With our printing system, customers do not need to stock a variety of special GHS supplies,” said Luger. “They can create GHS labels using a standard red/black ribbon and a roll of blank white label material. The printer produces all the colors – so customers can stock 60% fewer supply parts.”
Brady added the GHS/CLP symbols to their MarkWare label design software nearly two years ago, in response to demands from their global customer base. The software features wizard-style GHS label templates, which incorporate simple drop down menus and OSHA-compliant layouts. It can also auto-translate the text on the label into a second language for global identification.
Brady’s complete GHS label printing solution is composed of the following Brady products: a GlobalMark 2 MultiColor or Color & Cut Printer; MarkWare Software Version 3.8.1 or higher (free upgrade is available); white continuous tape; and a black and red paneled ribbon.
