BradyGlo™ Photoluminescent Products Offer Simplified Solution for New York City Local Law 26 Compliance
MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN- (June 14, 2006)- The mandates of NYC Local Law 26 have left many building managers with a challenge- how to meet the new code regulations in the most efficient, cost-effective way possible. Brady Corporation offers a simplified solution for NYC Local Law 26 compliance, with BradyGlo™ photoluminescent materials and products that have been specifically designed for the code requirements.
NYC Local Law 26 requires all Class E commercial properties that are 75-feet or taller to have emergency evacuation stairwells retrofitted with photoluminescent markings and signage. With a compliance deadline of July 1, 2006, owners and management companies of affected properties will be seeking simple solutions for code compliance while ensuring tenant safety in an emergency. BradyGlo™ products save time and money with faster, easier application and improved durability compared to competitive photoluminescent products.
BradyGlo™ products offer four distinct advantages over other photoluminescent products currently available: better adhesion; greater durability; faster, easier application; and code-specific, cut-to-fit products specifically engineered for NYC Local Law 26. Brady Corporation also brings their customers nearly a century of focus on safety and identification products.
Engineered to install faster, last longer
The BradyGlo™ exclusive High-Tack adhesive is as much as 30% stronger than other pressure sensitive adhesives. This reduces both installation time and overall maintenance costs when compared to other products that must be applied mechanically or with an epoxy-based adhesive. The low-profile construction of all of the BradyGlo™ pressure sensitive adhesive products also speeds installation because it easily conforms and sticks to handrails, pipes, and other circular shapes.
BradyGlo™ handrail markers and "L"-shaped step markers are designed with rounded or radial-cut corners for improved marking longevity. Square-cut corners cause more maintenance problems because the corners lift up, creating "pick points" and causing the material to peel off. Rounded or radial-cut corners stay flat and resist peeling, helping reduce maintenance, repair and replacement costs.
Brady takes the lead with NYC Local Law 26
NYC Local Law 26 specifies unusual product configurations for marking handrails and stair steps. Brady has created ready-made products, pre-cut to size and shape, so you can simply peel and apply. This helps avoid time-consuming hand cutting of individual pieces, and helps to ensure a correct and consistent configuration for NYC Local Law 26 compliance. BradyGlo™ products include 18-inch strips for handrails and "L"-shaped markers for individual stair steps.
In addition to adding to its NYC Local Law 26-compliant products, BradyGlo™ photoluminescent signs and markings are easy to install for both "Do-It-Yourself" building maintenance staff and professional installers. This is a big advantage for building managers and owners who need a straightforward photoluminescent marking solution.
Specially designed Brady packaging and adhesive liners help make BradyGlo™ products easier to use and reduce costly product waste. The EZ-Release liner simplifies the process of removing the liner from the tape- just peel and apply for fast, easy installation. For BradyGlo™ pressure sensitive adhesive products in roll form, the Brady EZ-Dispense packaging allows you to dispense as you go, in only the amount you need. This dispenser eliminates unwieldy spiraling of the rolls and saves time during installation.
