Description:
Brady B-542 masking tape is a tan colored saturated crepe paper with a removable rubber based pressure sensitive adhesive.
Brady B-542 is used primarily as a solder dip mask or in other making applications where high temperatures are present.
Brady B-542 has good conformability, has very good resistance to heat, and removes cleanly without adhesive residue from most surfaces.

B-542 samples tested for Performance Properties were applied to stainless steel and phenolic panels and allowed to dwell 24 hours at room temperature prior to testing.

No visible effect to tape. Removed cleanly from stainless steel and phenolic without adhesive residue. Some adhesive residue at 30 day temperatures greater than 175°F (80°C ).

Tape discolored and embrittled, and is no longer removable. B-542 is not recommended for outdoor applications.
Product testing, customer feedback, and history of similar products, support a customer
performance expectation of at least
one year from the date of receipt
for this product as long as this product is stored in its original packaging in an environment
below 80 degrees F and 60% RH
. We are confident that our product will perform well beyond this time frame. However, it remains the responsibility of the user to assess the risk of using such product. We encourage customers to develop functional testing protocols that will qualify a product's fitness for use, in their actual application.
