BradyPrinter 2461 Firmware Upgrade

The BradyPrinter™ 2461 Firmware Upgrade Version 7.132 is available for download.

Install Instructions:

A.) Prepare the printer: Press the pause and test buttons and turn on the printer, you will get the message "update software...send software". (note: if you are upgrading from firmware version 2.09 or up you can copy to printer from the ready mode).

B.) Download the file 2461.zs to your PC's hard drive c:

C.) Copy the file from your computer to the printer via a parallel or serial cable. Click on your Windows Start button, then click on Programs, then Accessories, then Command Prompt. A black box appears. If your cursor is at anything other than C:/>, type c: and press enter, then type cd\ and press enter to make sure you are at the correct prompt. Follow the instructions below that matches your printers connection to your PC.

For Parallel
1. Type copy filename LPTx and press enter. For example: If your printer is a 2461 you would type at the DOS prompt without the quotes "copy 2461.zs LPT1"

For Serial
1. Type without the quotes "mode COM1;9600,n,8,1" to set the com port and press enter
2. Type copy filename.zs COMx and press enter. For example: If your printer is a 2461 connected to com1 you would type at the DOS prompt without the quotes "copy 2461.zs com1"

IMPORTANT NOTE:
When utilizing Thermal Print Drivers on a computer running Windows 95/98, there is one known issue that users should be aware of. Any application that gives the end user the ability to access printer properties THROUGH the application will behave adversely when this feature is attempted. To work around this problem, simply access all thermal printer properties via Windows internal print manager.
