TLS 2200 Firmware Upgrade v3.04

The electronic file of the Brady TLS 2200® Firmware Upgrade Version 3.04 Device Loader is available for download.
The Brady Device Loader replaced the TLS 2200 Program Installer.
You can no longer use the Program Installer previously available to download TLS 2200 software.
Please choose File Option #1 to begin downloading the Device Loader software.
Use the new Brady Device Loader to load software into your TLS 2200® Portable Printer.
Loading software is a two-step process.
You have two software options available for download:

**WARNING: Upgrading your current firmware with the Device Loader Software will ERASE your current memory along with label lists already stored. You will lose the current information stored in your TLS 2200
printer.

DOWNLOAD:

1. Download the DeviceLoader.zip file below.

2. Select Save this file to disk and click OK.

3. In the Save As window, click on the down arrow in the right side of the
Save in: field at the top.

4. Select your (C:\) drive and then click Save. This will save the file to
your PC. (Note: If you save the file to any directory other than the root of
C: please note the location).

UNZIP:

1. Go into Windows Explorer or My Computer and double click on your (C:) drive.
(Note: If you saved DeviceLoader.EXE to any other directory, navigate to that
location.)

2. Double-click on DeviceLoader.zip. This will launch WinZip (if you do not
have Winzip on your PC, you can download a working evaluation copy free from
www.winzip.com).

3. Deviceloader.exe will appear. Click it to select it then click on the Extract
button.

4. In the Folders/Drives section, navigate to your local hard disk (C:\) so
C: appears in the Extract To field, then click Extract. Close Winzip.

INSTALL:

1. Go into Windows Explorer or My Computer and double click on your (C:\)
drive. (Note: If you saved DeviceLoader.EXE to any other directory, navigate
to that location.)

2. Double-click on DeviceLoader.EXE. This will launch the installation wizard.

3. Follow the instructions as they appear on your screen by pressing Next or
Finish. By default, the program will install the Brady Device Loader to c:\Program
Files\Brady\Brady Device Loader.

Step 2. PREPARE THE TLS2200:

1. Attach the TLS 2200 printer communication cable to the TLS 2200 and to a
serial port on your computer.

2. With the TLS 2200 printer OFF, hold down the SHIFT, FUNC & L keys down as
you turn it on.

3. The TLS 2200 printer display will say "Clear BANKO?Y". Press the Enter key.
The display will now say "Begin loading Intel hex file".

Step 3. RUN THE BRADY DEVICE LOADER SOFTWARE:

1. In Windows, click on Start-->Programs-->Brady Device Loader-->Brady Device
Loader.

2. Select the appropriate TLS 2200 portable printer you are upgrading.

3. The next screen will ask you to select a file to download. Available files
will be listed in the box on the right. Select the TLS_Loader.hex file to upgrade
to firmware v3.04 on the TLS 2200 printer. Click Next.

4. Select your COM port, then click Next.

5. Click the Program button. You should see a percentage increasing on both
the computer screen and the printer display. Once completed, you may click:

• Exit to exit the Device Loader installation,


• Program to download the software to another TLS printer,


• or Back to select the other hex file and download the program to the printer.
  

6. Turn the portable printer OFF, wait 5 seconds, and then back ON to initialize
the new firmware.
