Bradyprinter X-Plus Series Firmware Upgrade

The Bradyprinter™ X-Plus Series Firmware Upgrade is available for download.

Directions for uploading from the Windows environment:

1. Download the file (V33_11_1.EXE) to your PC.

2. From the Windows File Manager, copy the file (V33_11_1.EXE) to an appropriate working directory on the hard drive.

3. From the File Manager, double click on the V33_11_1.EXE file name. (A ZPL file approximately 2 megabytes in size will be created.)

4. The new file (V33_11_1.ZPL) will be created within the same directory as the original .exe file. (This is the file that needs to be sent to the Brady X PLUS Series printer.)

5. With the printer power off, press and hold the printer's two black oval keys located directly under the LCD while applying power to the printer. When the PAUSE LED comes on release the keys. This will set the printer into download mode using either the parallel port or the serial port set to 57600 baud, 8 data bits, no parity, 1 stop bit. The serial port handshaking must be set to either DSR/DTR or XON/XOFF.

For Parallel
5A. In your DOS prompt Type copy filename.zpl LPTx and press enter. Fo
r example: If your printer is a 300x plus you would type at the DOS prompt without the quotes "copy V33_11_1.zpl LPT1"

For Serial
5B. Type without the quotes "mode COM1;57600,n,8,1" to set the com port and press enter

5C. Type copy filename.zpl COMx and press enter. For example: If your printer is a 300x plus connected to com1 you would type at the DOS prompt without the quotes "copy V33_11_1.zpl com1"

6. Send the file (V33_X_X.ZPL), using your communication program, directly to the Brady X PLUS Series printer. This process will overwrite the earlier software version currently installed in your printer. While it is downloading the power led will stay on and the data LED will flash as it is receiving data.

7. Once the firmware has been uploaded to the printer, the printer will reset. Confirm the new version has been loaded successfully by verifying the version on the LCD display.
