How do I check the current firmware
version in my IDXPERT printer? Press and hold the power button and the printer’s firmware version will appear on the screen.

What cable is needed Upgrade to v2.0?
The upgrade process below requires the use of the PC cable that was originally supplied with your printer (cat# PCCABLE-1, for serial port printers or cat# XPERT-CABLE-USB for USB port printers).

Upgrading printers that have firmware earlier than v2.0 The upgrade will give your prior version printer full v2.0 functionality, but there will be a minor keypad difference related only to the new “2-zone printing” feature that you should be aware of.

The upgrade requires one download if you plan to use your IDXPERT printer only in stand-alone mode after upgrading. There are up to 3 downloads required if you plan to use your printer to print from a PC once you upgrade.

All upgrading users should complete this first download regardless of intended use mode after upgrading: 1. Download the Printer Firmware Upgrade (free). Click the "Begin Download" button below and follow the prompts in the install wizard. This upgrade actually downloads 2 files…the first is a loader program (which is the program that transfers the new firmware file into the printer), and the second is the current printer firmware file itself. After completing the wizard for the loader program, click the loader icon to transfer the printer firmware file to your printer. You may be required to remove any current drivers residing on COM1 port.

The next 2 downloads are only required if you plan to print from a PC after upgrading to v2.0:

2. Download the IDXPERT Printer Driver (free).

3. Download the LabelMark v3.1.1 Upgrade (free). This is only required if you already have a LabelMark software version prior to v3.1.1. This upgrade adds the IDXPERT label parts to your prior version LabelMark parts database enabling you to select those parts from within LabelMark to create labels on them.
