Label Design

Flexible date stamping - Use different formatting methods for date stamping
Flexible time stamping -  Use different formatting methods for time stamping

Add an offset to a date - Important for print jobs where you may be printing batch labels that require a future date to be applied.  Link together with shared variables and allow multiple users to use the same serialization scheme.

Auto Save document - Autosave work so that time invested in your labels is not lost.  The Auto save feature will automatically save your document on a periodic basis like MS Word

Color support - Multiple color support for exact matching on brand colors for rating plates and other label applications

Object positioning - Free form move images, text, and other objects around the label's design.  Rulers available in English or the metric system will assist in lining up objects

TextArt - TextArt can be created using custom spacing, backgrounds, and borders to design attractive product packaging labels.
Full justify -  Left, Middle, or Right justify text on the label.
Output mask - Make data presented on a label adhere to your formatting specifications when the incoming data being used has multiple forms.
Printer code converter - Makes it possible to import files from any application in most printer languages, and print to any bar code printer

Preview graphics/labels - Preview an image of graphics and labels before selecting them so you know that you have the correct label or image selected.  Save time.
OLE objects - Embed graphics, video clips, and any MS Office application such as a MS Excel Chart with data to be used on the label.

Improve Workflow

ActiveX Basic  - Create your own custom front-ends or integrate BradySoft into existing Enterprise applications with the application programmers interface.   The ActiveX technology lets you easily integrate your labeling software as a printing module or a designer module in your own organization. ActiveX is object oriented and all of the ActiveX objects are programmable from any languages such as Visual Basic. So the user can control his labeling software using his own custom, legacy, or Enterprise program.

Printing

Color graphic reduction -  Useful when printing on printers with a lower number of available colors.
TCP/IP Printing - Print to a printer on your local network
Number of Connected Printers  - Number of printers that can be printed to.
Variable graphic images - Pull in multiple images such as logos to be printed on different labels.
Job Modifier - Send additional commands to the label printer such as adding a form feed after printing.  Or sending a clear printing memory command with the print job.
Font downloader - Download fonts for printing into a selected printer.
Customizable - Use the print form in order to prompt user to enter data into variable fields for label printing.  Vary the frequency to after each label or some other cycle.
Automatic prompt - Prompt the user to input variable data for each label as the labels are printed.
Command File Interpreter (CFI) [ Add-On, sold separately] (note: single-user editions only) - Automate the label printing process and simplify the flow of label information through your organization. Automatically transfers information generated by other systems and computers, and prints correct labels. Available for purchase with BradySoft 8 Standard or Ultimate Software.
COMet (free) - At the End of the Day COMet will remove errors that arise from the reading of information on a source label, PLC, or scale in order to manually input that information on a label for tracking purposes or other.  COMet automates your printing by extracting data from peripheral devices such as scanners, scales, PLC devices, which then interprets it, sends it to the BradySoft labeling program (the data in your label is automatically updated), and starts printing the label.

Manage Data

Hidden (unprintable) objects - Can be used for serial production where a counter number needs to be seen on the label but not printed.
Propose values/PickList - Use the pick list option in conjunction with the Form in order to allow a user to select from a list of company names or other information when prompted to enter some information in the variable field on a label.
Shared variables - Use shared variables in order to print labels that need a sequential number scheme to be shared by multiple users.
Value from a file - Use a value from a file
Accumulate value - Are used to store the value of the variable in a separate file. The value is added to the value already stored in the file. This feature can take data from any field on a label format and add its value to a pre-determined file. This accumulator file can accept data from multiple label formats. It can be printed on any label by selecting Accumulator File as the data source. To clear the accumulator file (reset to 0) after printing, the Clear after print option should be selected when the Data Source of any text or barcode field is set to accumulator.
Create/edit query - Access tables in other databases and pull only the records and fields you need without knowledge of database administration tools
Grid view/print - View data within the table as it is structured within table in order to get a clear view of what your want to pull from it.
ASCII database/ODBC/OLE DB - Connect to a variety of data sources.
Filters on tables - Similar to the query functionality
Set input format - Set the format that data will be brought into a field on the label.  For example set the date format and data pulled in will be changed to it.
Minimum input length - Specify the minimum input length for a field on the label.
Database Manager - Standard Options (free) - Minimize the need for database administration knowledge when BradySoft’s database manager allows users to modify a selected database’s structure and data and query for selected information. How:  Pull in data from multiple data sources into a single or multiple labels.  Edit the source database’s structure, fields within its tables, and create queries without ever needing to have knowledge of or access to the database administrator tool.

Security

Password (one level) - Protect label format from intentional or unintentional changes by requiring a password.
