Preview graphics/labels - Preview an image of graphics and labels before selecting them so you know that you have the correct label or image selected. Save time.
OLE objects - Embed graphics, video clips, and any MS Office application such as a MS Excel Chart with data to be used on the label.
Circular bar codes - Bend text at select angles to fit a selected shape. Labels CDs and other objects.
Export label as a graphic - Export a label to a graphic file. You can also save a label as a graphic.
Rich Text Fields (RTF) - Add text elements such as raised trademark symbols, chemical formulas, or mathematical exponents to your labels. BradySoft's RTF allow you to apply common text formatting, bullets, and text justification and character positioning which is useful for designing nutrition, pharmaceutical, chemical warning, or hazardous material labels.
Listfield - Spread data in a table using listfields. Used to create order, invoice documents, ratings, nutrition and pharmaceutical labels. Listfields can be used in connection with Sentinel S/5 Print Management Software - which can provide complex data from external sources including ERP or legacy systems.
Word hyphenation option - Hyphen character available for text- A feature in the paragraph functionality in order to determine the rules for word wrapping)
Fit to frame option - Automatically adjust text and objects to required dimensions. This is useful when you do not know the max character length that will be placed in the text field when importing information from an Excel Spreadsheet, database, or other data source.
Lock/Unlock objects - Lock and unlock objects on a label so that they don't move from their designed position before the label is made available for others to use.
Improve Workflow
ActiveX Basic - Create your own custom front-ends or integrate BradySoft into existing Enterprise applications with the application programmers interface. The ActiveX technology lets you easily integrate your labeling software as a printing module or a designer module in your own organization. ActiveX is object oriented and all of the ActiveX objects are programmable from any languages such as Visual Basic. So the user can control his labeling software using his own custom, legacy, or Enterprise program.
Form Viewer - Use the form viewer to access custom interfaces for simple label selection and printing. The Form Designer AddOn needs to be purchased in order for a designated power user to create a custom interfaces.
ActiveX version 2/Active X version 1 - Create your own custom front-ends or integrate BradySoft into existing Enterprise applications with the application programmers interface.
DLLs - Extend BradySoft's formula library by creating your own functions in programming code and making them available through DLLs.
Form Designer [ Add-On, sold separately] - At the end of the day, a custom form interface will get employees new to the process of printing labels, printing them faster. They will not need to know how to design a label or import data, just select the data presented to them and print the label. No programming knowledge is necessary to create these interfaces.
HTML forms generator - This tool helps maintain consistent label formats throughout your organization. Decrease the skills and time required for employees to select and print labels with the click of a button. Simply click the HTML form generator option and follow the wizard to generate a simple 1-page web based interface for a label where users in different locations can access it, input the number of copies and print all through a web browser.
Printing
Color graphic reduction - Useful when printing on printers with a lower number of available colors.
TCP/IP Printing - Print to a printer on your local network
Number of Connected Printers - Number of printers that can be printed to.
Variable graphic images - Pull in multiple images such as logos to be printed on different labels.
Job Modifier - Send additional commands to the label printer such as adding a form feed after printing. Or sending a clear printing memory command with the print job.
Font downloader - Download fonts for printing into a selected printer.
Customizable - Use the print form in order to prompt user to enter data into variable fields for label printing. Vary the frequency to after each label or some other cycle.
Automatic prompt - Prompt the user to input variable data for each label as the labels are printed.
Command File Interpreter (CFI) [ Add-On, sold separately] (note: single-user editions only) - Automate the label printing process and simplify the flow of label information through your organization. Automatically transfers information generated by other systems and computers, and prints correct labels. Available for purchase with BradySoft 8 Standard or Ultimate Software.
COMet (free) - At the End of the Day COMet will remove errors that arise from the reading of information on a source label, PLC, or scale in order to manually input that information on a label for tracking purposes or other. COMet automates your printing by extracting data from peripheral devices such as scanners, scales, PLC devices, which then interprets it, sends it to the BradySoft labeling program (the data in your label is automatically updated), and starts printing the label.
Label preview - Preview your label before printing.
Automate Printing with the POF configuration manager [ Add-On, sold separately] - Eliminate the need for custom code programming in order to automate your label printing for thermal transfer printers. First a label is designed with BRADYSOFT and then the label is output as a native printer code file using the POF utility. This printer code can then be uploaded to the printer scripts for integration into the existing code. Once the POF file has been generated and incorporated into the host system, labels can be printed without a labeling software program, and can be printed from applications that run on platforms other than Windows.
Manage Data
Hidden (unprintable) objects - Can be used for serial production where a counter number needs to be seen on the label but not printed.
Propose values/PickList - Use the pick list option in conjunction with the Form in order to allow a user to select from a list of company names or other information when prompted to enter some information in the variable field on a label.
Shared variables - Use shared variables in order to print labels that need a sequential number scheme to be shared by multiple users.
Value from a file - Use a value from a file
Accumulate value - Are used to store the value of the variable in a separate file. The value is added to the value already stored in the file. This feature can take data from any field on a label format and add its value to a pre-determined file. This accumulator file can accept data from multiple label formats. It can be printed on any label by selecting Accumulator File as the data source. To clear the accumulator file (reset to 0) after printing, the Clear after print option should be selected when the Data Source of any text or barcode field is set to accumulator.
Create/edit query - Access tables in other databases and pull only the records and fields you need without knowledge of database administration tools
Grid view/print - View data within the table as it is structured within table in order to get a clear view of what your want to pull from it.
ASCII database/ODBC/OLE DB - Connect to a variety of data sources.
Filters on tables - Similar to the query functionality
Set input format - Set the format that data will be brought into a field on the label. For example set the date format and data pulled in will be changed to it.
Minimum input length - Specify the minimum input length for a field on the label.
Database Manager - Standard Options (free) - Minimize the need for database administration knowledge when BradySoft’s database manager allows users to modify a selected database’s structure and data and query for selected information. How: Pull in data from multiple data sources into a single or multiple labels. Edit the source database’s structure, fields within its tables, and create queries without ever needing to have knowledge of or access to the database administrator tool.
Database Manager - Batch Printing Options (free) - Print Multiple Labels
Import from FTP Import information from a file located on a FTP server. This is useful for basic file sharing between locations.
Linked counters - Create a serialization scheme by linking counters for labels that need to run through a specified legend.
Save query - Once a query is created save when accessing the label for printing by saving the query with the label.
Multiple tables - Connect to multiple tables and manage the queries associated with these labels.
SQL mode - If you are comfortable with editing SQL, SQL mode is available to edit your queries and filters.
Security
Password (one level) - Protect label format from intentional or unintentional changes by requiring a password.
Multi-Level password protection - Manage user access with the user manager. Manage individual user rights or set privileges for a group of users.
User Manager - Manage user groups and user access with this administrative tool
Printing Logfile - View a history of who has printed what, when, and how many labels were printed.
RFID Tags
RFID - Common Radio Frequency Tags in printers - BradySoft makes radio frequency data available to be queried and manipulated like any other datasource. Choose from preconfigured templates to easily configure complex tags like EPC using the new structured RFID tag configuration. With BRADYSOFT 8 software you also have the ability to design Radio Frequency Labels (adhesive labels fitted with an electronic chip) through a user-friendly interface. BRADYSOFT 8 gives you the ability to print and program Radio Frequency Labels simultaneously
